Indiana AG Zoeller poised to enter congressional race
Zoeller was first elected state attorney general in 2008.
Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller announced Monday morning that he will run for a seat in the U.S. House.
The company says the move is expected to create up to 70 new jobs by 2020.
Zoeller’s announcement tour will take him to New Albany, Clarksville, Corydon, Paoli, Salem, Scottsburg, Seymour, Bloomington, Nashville, French Lick, Martinsville and Franklin over the course of the next two days.
Indiana’s attorney general is running for Congress.
Before working for the state, Zoeller served as an executive assistant to Dan Quayle during Quayle’s time as a senator and vice president. In his 2012 re-election campaign, Zoeller received more votes than any other statewide candidate-including more votes than any candidate appearing on the ballot in the 9th Congressional District. Brent Waltz, R-Greenwood, has been a state senator since 2004.
“We really need to get somebody in Washington who can get them to “Yes” – you know, kind of my theme about trying to get people to work together – and address the problems that aren’t being addressed”, Zoeller said. Dan Coats, who will not seek re-election. It runs from Johnson County just south of Indianapolis down to the Ohio River and the Kentucky border. He also attended Purdue and Indiana universities for his undergraduate.
