Next version of Apple Watch coming in March
It’s rumored that they’ll reveal an Apple Watch 2 and a new iPhone, the iPhone 6c. But it’s easy to imagine which direction Apple will take the new or improved features, like a thinner profile or better battery life and health tracking. This would be Apple’s second March event in as many years.
The 4-inch iPhone 6c on the other hand, will be a device that will pack a mixed bag of hardware, making it fall between the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 6s. We’ve heard numerous rumors about a 4-inch iPhone over the past few months.
If Apple does unveil a new Apple Watch in March, it’s likely to ship in April according to the report.
However, the iPhone 6c’s camera probably won’t be upgraded, as this is one of the main selling points of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus over previous generations.
Although Apple Watch has been available less than a year, it’s vaulted Apple to the second biggest wearable vendor based on market share, according to IDC. It’s quite a clever ploy by Apple, especially with the iPhone 6c, as the time difference between the iPhone 6c’s release date and the iPhone 7 means that Apple’s customer base won’t see the iPhone 6c as the budget option, paling in comparison to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
Apple previously used to hold its major events towards the end of the year – ordinarily launching the new iPhone in September or October, and then launching the new iPad soon after that. Apple also launched a new 12-inch MacBook.
