Bugatti and Palmer Johnson to Make Luxury Yacht Called Niniette
Well if the Niniette series of yachts, built by Palmer Johnson under license from Bugatti, is anything to go by, then the answer is sheer unadulterated beauty. As steep as it seems, the high-end fee for owning one of this impressive machines comes with some additional perks, as the yachts are heavily inspired by Bugatti’s history and heritage, as well.
The series will be called the Niniette yacht series and is reportedly named after the original Bugatti founder’s nickname for his daughter. Now, more than 80 years later, this tradition has been revived and the brand motto of “Art, Forme, Technique” is again being applied to a boat. This existing connection is why the two companies have looked to the classic Bugatti cars of the ’30s and ’40s for inspiration for the positions, strength and directions of exterior lines. Upon ordering, the yacht will be made for 12 months based on the requirements of the client. Besides its elegant design, the yacht will also be able to attain a top speed of 38 knots (approximately 70Km/h).
The smallest model starts at 2 million euros-about $2.18 million-and each watercraft takes about a year to produce and customize. Founded in 1918 with its current headquarters in Moncao, Palmer Johnson has become a yacht building pioneer. The mid size yacht, a total length of 63 feet, features a large salon below deck, with luxurious accommodations for up to four guests to spend the night plus cabin crew members. A two-tone colorscheme is also supposed to be Bugattiesque.
Ever wonder what a Bugatti in yacht form would look like? However, Bugatti stopped production of the supercars, meaning Veyrons are even harder to obtain – even if you actually have the money!
Bugatti is the brand of a family of artists who distinguished themselves in an environment where other automotive brands were operated by entrepreneurs with a purely technical background. That does not imply you can’t acquire Bugatti-branded things right now. Currently Bugatti is working on its next super sports auto which will be called Chiron and celebrate its world premiere at the Geneva International Motor Show 2016.
