San Bernardino shooters practiced twice before attack
In a tragic California shooting incident, US-born Syed Farook and his wife Tashfeen Malik took the lives of 14 people when they stormed a San Bernardino care center for people with developmental disabilities.
Additional security guards have been posted at county offices and other security measures are in place, Ramos said.
The FBI have found evidence to suggest that the couple had been preparing for an attack for some time. Six patients are still hospitalized: Two in critical condition and four others in fair or good condition. Galletta said word is spreading that his range let Farook shoot there and, as a result, he’s getting death threats.
“At first it seemed very black and white to us that he changed radically when he met her”, said one of the officials who declined to be identified because of the continuing investigation.
Officials have had difficulty retrieving information from the couple’s cell phones because they destroyed them prior to the attack, and because some of the data from the phones was apparently encrypted.
Officials have said the infant has since been placed in protective custody. Marquez has not been charged and is now talking with investigators. The items were hidden inside a canvas bag left at the Inland Regional Center by Syed Rizwam Farook and Tashfeen Malik, according to San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan.

Staff members within Farook’s division will return to work next week.
The FBI has been investigating the shooting at a social service center as a potential act of terrorism but had reached no firm conclusions as of Thursday, with authorities cautioning repeatedly that the violence could have stemmed from a workplace grudge or a combination of motives.
It was not clear if Farook, an environmental health specialist for the county, attended the earlier training, but some of the victims of the mass shooting were likely to have participated, said a county spokeswoman. The Muslim couple were killed hours later in a gunbattle with police.
The FBI announced the couple appears to have embraced radical viewpoints for quite some time and had practiced at local shooting ranges.
Officials say just two days before the massacre, Farook took a rifle and handgun to the Riverside Magnum Range on Sunday and Monday.
Tashfeen Malik’s path to the United States raised immediate questions about the government’s system for vetting foreign fiancés after her role in the deadly attack was revealed.
Bowdich says investigators found 19 pipes in the couple’s home in Redlands, California, that could be turned into bombs with all the right components.
“We held each other and we protected each other through this horrific event”, she said, “and we will continue to hold each other and protect each other”.
Farook’s personal finances are a subject of interest for law enforcement.
An acquaintance, Enrique Marquez, had given the couple the semiautomatic Smith & Wesson M&P15 and.223-caliber DPMS A-15 rifles, authorities said.
During a press conference Monday, leaders said there will be more security guards at the facilities and they will now be armed.
The latest revelation in the FBI-led probe came five days after Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, and his wife, 29, shoot out at a Christmas party of San Bernardino County Health Department, where Farook had worked for five years.
“Unfortunately the room just didn’t provide a whole lot of protection”, said Corwin Porter, assistant county health director. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department will also increase patrols at county buildings.
While the investigation reaches from California to Pakistan, where Malik was born, surviving victims of the assault continued to heal in San Bernardino.
