Did Zach Seabaugh land in ‘The Voice’ finals?
The first cut might be the deepest, but the second, third, fourth and fifth cuts on The Voice’s semifinal elimination show, narrowing the field from nine singers to four ahead of next week’s finale, were pretty darn brutal.
Carson Daly announced the first of the results. Her song “Even God Must Get The Blues” by Jo Dee Messina exuded her newfound confidence onstage. Shelby Brown, Amy Vachal and Braiden Sunshine were eliminated from the running. It’s time such talents like Jordan Smith and Amy Vachal are putting to good use.
Amidst the high-stakes drama was a touching performance of “Coat of Many Colors”, a Dolly Parton classic about the importance of family over everything. Her haunting, unique voice landed her a standing ovation from her coach Pharrell as well as Blake, who couldn’t believe he had just witnessed a live performance. No more singing karaoke at the bowling alley for this Alabama teen – we’re sad to see Shelby go but no doubt she’s got an incredible career ahead of her!
The NBC series started the Live Shows weeks ago, but the series’ decision to only eliminate one hopeful per week is giving the top performers plenty of extra stage time.
As for the three bottom three artists competing for the final spot in “The Voice” Season 9 (2015) finals are: Jeffery Austin (Team Gwen), Zach Seabaugh (Team Blake), and Madi Davis (Team Pharrell).
Find out who will make it to the Top 8 when The Voice airs its results show Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
Those four – Team Blake’s Emily Ann Roberts and Barrett Baber, Team Adam’s Jordan Smith, and Team Gwen’s Jeffery Austin – are headed to next week’s finale. But if Adam continues to pick the right lyrics for his top artist, nothing can stop him.
Blake Shelton took the stage and performed his new single, “Gonna”, and then his artist Emily Ann Roberts performed Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5”. Adam pointed out on the semi-finals that she can be hard to work with and she said the same of him.
But Team Blake brought their “A” game as well.
He didn’t deliver his best performance Monday, but maybe it shouldn’t have come as too much of a surprise that he garnered enough votes to be sent through automatically.
But in a perfectly fair process, America would be voting exclusively off the performance they heard last night – in that regard, Barrett may have gotten away with one. He’ll perform Monday night, December 7, in the semi-finals.
