Prince Reinstates ‘Creep’ Cover Seven Years After Taking It Down
He’s pulled all of his work from streaming services (except for Tidal, of course), had everything taken down from YouTube that uses his songs, and even once sued 22 of his fans for $1 million each.
It’s been over seven years since Prince covered Radiohead’s “Creep” at Coachella, but he has somehow managed to keep the clips from the public. So in a completely unexpected move, the legendary performer has re-uploaded a much loved video to the web, Gigwise said. The uploader added a quote attributed to noted “Creep”-hater Thom Yorke in the description that reads: “Well, tell him to unblock it. It’s our… song”.
Sure enough, Prince tweeted out a link to video of the sought-after performance. It’s something to witness as Prince settles the alternative radio mainstay into a slick, sexy, groove, erupting into that big old chorus before sliding into one of those effortless, Princely solos that fans know and love.
It looks like Prince is finally cool with the internet having access to his cover of the Radiohead classic Creep, which is great, because it’s absolutely stunning.
