Thompson points way to Warriors
The Warriors have won 27 straight dating to last season, tying the 2012-13 Heat for the second-longest streak in National Basketball Association history. He’s now made at least one three in 87 consecutive road games, tying the league record set by Rashard Lewis from 2007-09.
It’s gimmicky to tack on anything from the regular season before, ignoring the reality that there were six months, a postseason (which included five losses), a preseason and a coaching change (the ailing Steve Kerr to interim Luke Walton) in between those games. We were thrilled with the way we played during the first three quarters.
Again, I don’t think the Warriors will go 82-0. They’re not necessarily intimidating, but they’re efficient in all that they do and having fun in the process.
Warriors guard Klay Thompson is listed as questionable for Friday’s game against the Boston Celtics because of a sprained right ankle, but it appears as if the prognosis is good.
“I’ll be all right”, Thompson said. Given a choice of poisons, I’ll take the Splash Brother ESPN is not featuring in promos.
“It was one of those nights where I got a lot of great looks”. It’s a great feeling. I literally don’t play one second in the game. We just don’t know, and maybe we won’t find out if they continue to win games. Just about any team save for the Sixers and Lakers (both sabotaged by a disastrous mix of front office, ownership, player and coaching decisions) can beat the Golden State Warriors. He connected on 10 3-pointers in the win.
Thompson re-ignited memories of his record-breaking 37-point quarter against Sacramento Kings last January. On a night where Curry was somewhat human with 29 points and 3-of-11 shooting from beyond the arc and Green was limited to eight points, another one of their starters stepped up to absolutely demolish a team’s will to live. “That is unbelievable. You could see the look in his eyes”.
Counting on your best players to score 30 points a night and hoping to outscore opponents will not be effective every night during an 82-game season, so defense will need to be a point of emphasis going forward. The Other Half of the “Splash Brothers” was at his best in the first two quarters of the game connecting eight of his 10 attempts from the three point line to charge a 22-0 Golden State run that broke the game open.
Sports talk radio hosts and ticket salesmen said they haven’t seen this much excitement or demand for a regular season Pacers game in 20 years.
“Our transition defence was poor early in the game, and we gave Klay a chance to hit a couple of threes early, and then he really got going”.
“This team can teach you a lot of lessons”, Vogel said to Candace Bucker of the Indianapolis Star.
3 – The Pacers continued to fight hard despite the extremely long odds in trying to recover from a 28-point deficit in just 12-minutes.
IN was led by Paul George with 33 points and C.J.
“If we win tomorrow, we’ll probably have five more (national) TV games added to our schedule”, George said. They scored 79 first-half points.
The Warriors’ flawless opening has led to some astounding proposition bets. The visitors led by as many as 37 in the quarter, during which they shot 63 percent.
