Woman Caught On Camera Throwing Coffee In Muslim Man’s Face
If you click on the video above, you will see a woman, in a park in Lake Chabot in California’s Alameda County, screaming at a group of Muslims for praying in that park, and subsequently assaulting one of them.
Denise Slader verbally and then physically attacked Rasheed Albeshari and his friends, while they were praying in the grass in Lake Chabot Park.
When Rasheed Albeshari, one of the men Slader was targeting, began recording the altercation, she hit him with an umbrella and threw coffee in his face. “Your mind has been taken over, brainwashed and you have nothing but hate”, she said, according to the Times.
A park ranger can be seen in the video trying to intervene, but the woman responds angrily, saying it is inappropriate for the man to tape her. The victim, who cannot be seen on camera, can be heard saying “This lady was talking about my God”. He captured the tail end of the incident on video. They’re recommending misdemeanor battery.
Albeshari told Rawstory that he moved to the Bay Area from North Carolina four years ago, partially because he expected to face less discrimination here. “You are very deceived by Satan”, said a state worker identified as Denise Slader. This happened right down the street from our house – we live in Castro Valley – and it sickens me that you would be treated so rudely for practicing your faith. “It’s a very uncomfortable feeling”, he told the Arab American News. She works as a program technician in the state correction department’s parole division.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, police from the East Bay Regional Park District arrived shortly afterward, and took statements from those involved. “At this time there is no change in her status”.
Slader is still employed with the CDCR, but her actions are under review, department spokesman Luis Patino said. Albeshari caught the footage on camera and has subsequently uploaded it to Facebook in an attempt to spread awareness.
A park official got between the pair to stop the situation from escalating, she said.
“On the bright side, a lot of people approached us after it was over and told us that’s not what America is about and that’s not who Americans are”, he said. The DA will determine if the incident will be considered a hate crime.
