Knoxville Planned Parenthood holds vigil for Colorado Springs shooting Victims
The ex-wife of the man accused of shooting and killing three people at the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood last week says she isn’t surprised about the accusations.
They remembered the victims of the mass shooting and challenged what they call “violent rhetoric”.
But in the wake of the deadly shootout last week at a Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs, clinics nationwide are redoubling security efforts, checking surveillance cameras and reviewing evacuation plans.
Three people were killed and nine were wounded after authorities say Robert Dear opened fire at a Planned Parenthood clinic on November 27 in Colorado Springs.
In Washington, hundreds of Planned Parenthood supporters and staff members gathered at All Souls Church in Columbia Heights.
Planned Parenthood has always been a lightning rod for protests in the seemingly eternal pro-life, pro-choice debate, but the battles mostly have taken place in the courts and in state and federal political arenas.

According to Planned Parenthood, 2.7 million women and men in the United States annually visit Planned Parenthood affiliated health centers for trusted health care services and information.
What is known is that none of the clinic workers or patients were hurt. On a few instances, protesters have entered the Nashville clinic’s ground. Tchen was reading a statement from President Obama said. “We believe that we must continue promoting the pro-life message and reiterate the concern we have for every human life including the victims of this tragedy”.
Leaders, community partners, Planned Parenthood patients and Vicki Cowart, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, all spoke at the event. It’s not just Planned Parenthood and it’s not just abortion providers – hateful rhetoric incites violence against the black community, against immigrants, against refugees, against the transgender community.
“I don’t know of anybody who has suggested violence toward Planned Parenthood personnel or suggested violence toward their clinics”, he said. Ms. Fiorina claimed to have seen a video of “a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking while someone says we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain”. “It means we are a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for all people who need high-quality reproductive health care”.
So the people at the clinic that day were mostly law enforcement officials and people who were upstanding citizens.
