Last year, the Browns and Dawg Pound helped provide thousands of toys and donations to local youth during the holidays. That’s not including the more than $34,000 donated to the organization.

We’ll accept new toys, money, and food for Toys for Tots, Christmas Clearinghouse, and Montgomery Area Food Bank.

Yarbrough suspects the same men broke into the Toys For Tots warehouse Tuesday morning in Inkster.

To receive toys, low-income parents or children’s legal guardians must have proper identification, proof of residency from a water, gas, phone or utility bill, and an Acess/EBT card proving the person is receiving public assistance.

In 2014 Bengals fans generously contributed 5,470 toys and $48,888 in cash donations.

Owner Carl Francavilla, whose family business collects for Toys for Tots every year, has been very upset knowing the greedy grinches stole Christmas for so many metro Detroit children. The delivery date happened to fall on December 7, the anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, and there were veterans present to see the convoy come in.

“We had some hard times”, he said. “This program is not a one day event, we’re out here the last two months of the year collecting toys and then we sort the toys into age groups from infants to teens”.

Napa Valley Marine Corps Leave Detachment 870 recently collected 241 donations for its Toys For Tots holiday toy drive during an event held at downtown Napa’s Veterans Memorial Park Saturday. He summed up the significance of the season and the toy drive by saying, “Christmas is not about receiving”.
