Star Wars director faces hype, history in ‘Force Awakens’
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is the continuation of the Star Wars series created by George Lucas.
Is he dead, we wondered, or missing somewhere?
J.J. Abrams, director: “I’ve always felt like what George did and the first time it ever happened, there’s no way that I can imagine anything touching the magic of what he did and yet we all did the best we could to make that happen”. “Jar Jar is definitely not in the movie”, Kennedy said to cheers from the assembled crowd, referencing the almost universally loathed Gungan from the Star Wars prequels.
“The number of rumors floating around about The Force Awakens is truly stunning”.
Jar Jar Binks will not be in the forthcoming flick “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, Lucasfilm Ltd. president Kathleen Kennedy has confirmed. He used to look like the blond-haired Christensen and was a Jedi, which is a good knight who uses the metaphysical power of the Force to guard justice in the galaxy, but eventually he turned to the Dark Side. I have even heard rumours that some people are dressing in Star Wars fancy dress for the occasion – I can’t wait, it is going to be a fantastic night. “Star Wars never had like insane violence or anything”, she said.
Starring original cast members Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker and franchise newcomers, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong’o and Max von Sydow, Star Wars Episode VII is set to be released on December 18th, 2015. “We’ve all seen trailers for films, and they show you the movie in CliffsNotes form, and you go see the movie, and you go, ‘Yeah, I’ve seen this all before.’ So I’m very grateful that Disney took the lead in terms of keeping things quiet”.
“My sister asked me, ‘Why do people want to be actors?’ I had no answer”.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is to be released in Los Angeles on December 14 while the release in United Kingdom and Germany is on December 17 and in the USA and Japan in December 18. That said, he is expected to attend the film’s L.A. and London premieres, so we’ll soon get the verdict from the man himself once the red carpet press catches up with him.
Odeon in Telford will be among the first to screen the film – the seventh instalment in the Star Wars story – at 12.01am, quickly followed by the Cineworld cinemas in Shrewsbury and Telford at 12.05am.
