Honda Motorcycles launches first BS-IV model CB Hornet 160R
Addressing reporters at the launch, Keita Muramatsu, President and Chief Executive Officer of HMSI, said: “The Honda CB Hornet 160R will herald a new era of street naked biking in India”.
Senior Vice-President for sales and marketing Yadvinder Singh Guleria said the new model meets the rising preference for higher capacity bikes, especially in the 150-180cc segment, which has been gaining traction of late. The customers belonging to this segment demand best performance without any compromise in styling which reflects their inherent aggressive go-getter attitude towards life. “The combination of raw power, real muscle and ripped performance in the CB Hornet 160R will surely appeal and mirror their persona”.
The company had declared its intent to launch 15 new products this year, and the launch of the CB Hornet 160R brings Honda’s India carnival to a grand finale in 2015, as it brings down curtains on an eventful year. The headlight is sharp and edgy with two position lamps and upward facing side indicators. This very engine does duty on the CB Unicorn and is known for its smooth operation.
The CB Hornet 160R will initially be available for sale in 21 locations, including metros and big cities.
The Honda CB Hornet 160R’s suspension comprises a telescopic front fork and a monoshock rear unit.
Powering the Honda CB Hornet 160R is aThe all new CBHornet 160R is powered by a 162.71-cc, air-cooled, single cylinder that pumps out 15.88Ps at 8,500 RPM and 14.76 Nm at 6,500 RPM.
The Honda CB Hornet 160R has split grab tails along with a macho fuel tank covered with a matte carbon fibre coating. It is equipped with a box section swingarm.
Tyres on the front are 100/80 section, with the rear 140/70 section, mounted on a set of 17-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels. The bike is available in 2 variants – Single Disc & Dual Disc with CBS and will get a total of 5 colour options namely Neo Orange Metallic, Pearl Amazing White, Sports Red, Pearl Siren Blue and Pearl Nightstar Black.
