Thompson Leads Warriors to Beat Pacers, Match Heat’s 27 Successive Wins

Golden State was able to cruise for a majority of the night, ultimately earning its 23rd consecutive victory to open the season by a score of 131-123.

Pacers coach Frank Vogel noted that his team’s version of small ball was “light years” behind Golden State. “They get paid on the first and 15th just like us”.

And the tickets will only get more expensive if the Warriors stay unbeaten.

Thompson sprained his ankle on Tuesday, and the Warriors are going to be very cautious with him according to coach Luke Walton. “But it’ll be a gametime decision, and if there’s any concern at all that his ankle’s hurt, then we’re not going to play him”.

If and when there’s an L, the Warriors could win another 20+ in a row and in fact at this point I would expect that out of this group. Curry said, “We’ve got to handle the end of the game better”.

The Thunder, who needed a late jumper by Durant to beat the Sacramento Kings on Sunday, spent the majority of the game against the Grizzlies with a double-digit lead.

Curry said his goal is to be regarded as the “Greatest Of All Time”, knocking Michael Jordan off his perch.

Pivot to Boston’s point of view, and its ability to defeat the Warriors hinges on its ability to prevent Curry and Thompson from making shots. “Maybe we can go 82-0”. Their most formidable opponent in the coming weeks will be last season’s Finals opponent, the Cleveland Cavaliers, on Christmas Day. On nights like those, the offense will struggle to put up 110 points, which means the defense will have to step up eventually. It was, however, just their third sellout of the season (in nine games). So I completely understand why the Bay Area in particular and the sports universe in general is fascinated by the Warriors on a night by night basis as they blow through the National Basketball Association. I was taking my shots in rhythm.

“If we win tomorrow, we’ll probably have five more (national) TV games added to our schedule”, George said.

But if things go the way they’ve been going for the 23-0 Warriors, the little setback will just make Thompson’s ankle stronger.

In their Pacers win, Golden State was flawless defensively.

But Warriors opponents are growing used to it.
