Thousands attend Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Macon
GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump claims he saw Muslim Americans celebrating after the terror attacks on September 11th in 2001, and now he’s getting heat from his own party. If it shows up it will corroborate him. “I think they really want to see victory, because ultimately it is about, we want to win and we want to win together”.
The one person interviewed who did see celebrations, Emily Acevedo, who lived in Paterson, said at the time she only saw “12 or 13” people celebrating, and that “they were kids”.
Trump, who claimed his sarcasm resulted in him being misrepresented by the press and his opponents, said “How about I tell CNN, who doesn’t treat me properly …”
“It didn’t happen and the fact is, people can say anything, but the facts are the facts, and that didn’t happen in New Jersey that day and hasn’t happened since”, Christie told reporters at a campaign stop in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Monday. “I won’t do the debate unless they pay me $5 million and the money goes to wounded warriors or vets”.
“I wanted to qualify it that day – not that I thought it happened, but just to remind people that that was a very emotional day for me….”
Trump added on December 1 a clip of radio commentator Curtis Sliwa talking about people cheering the Twin Towers collapsing.
“I think part of the folly of all this is that we’re answering for him, he said what he said”.
“Some committed. I don’t know the number”, Scott said, according to the AP.
“Here in NY, it was easy to get angry listening to Egyptians, Palestinians and the Arabs of nearby Paterson, N.J., celebrate as they received word of the murderous attack in NY and Washington”, Siegel wrote. The SPLC and Human Rights Watch also recorded several dozen anti-Muslim and anti-Sikh incidents between 2001 and 2010. Darrell Scott, pastor of the New Spirit Revival Center in OH and an organizer of the gathering, said some attendees did commit to endorsing Trump but said he did not know how many.
Conservative blogger Debbie Schlussel, who is believed to be the originator of the claim Trump is now championing, attributes the rumor directly to the MTV News story.
