Yahoo Mail adds Gmail management feature
After adding your Gmail account, you can already view, manage, and search your Gmail mailboxes alongside whatever mailboxes you may have from Outlook.com, Hotmail, AOL, and, of course, Yahoo Mail.
Yahoo has introduced multiple mailbox management feature that will allow users to manage their Gmail accounts and Google apps from Yahoo mail. Launched recently, Yahoo’s revamped Mail service opened support for third party services as well, but was limited to Hotmail, Outlook and AOL.
Aside from adding Gmail integration, the latest update to Yahoo Mail brings support for multitasking on iPad. You can even search through all connected mailboxes from a single location.
The company is also claiming that you will be able to view all your Gmail emails, as opposed to certain apps or platforms which usually displays your more recent emails. Apart from basic access, Yahoo has also integrated its improved features such as search, contacts and Yahoo Account Key for password-free sign among others. Just click on the “+” sign when composing a new message. Gmail support in Yahoo Mail is accessible today in both iOS and Android applications furthermore, obviously, the Yahoo Mail site itself. Yahoo, which has remained as one of the top providers in the crowded e-mail service space, is looking for Yahoo Mail to become not just a communication tool but also a universal database that contains all the personal information that is important to a user.
Yahoo Mail’s capabilities have expanded to include support for Gmail and Google Apps accounts, as announced by senior product manager Shiv Shankar in a post on Yahoo’s official Tumblr page.
