Adele says Hello to BBC Music Awards double
The winners of the BBC Music Awards 2015 have been revealed tonight as part of a star-studded show from the Genting Arena, Birmingham.
Just weeks after the 27-year-old “Hello” singer released her record-breaking comeback album 25, breaking chart records around the world, Adele was honoured with her latest accolade at the ceremony in Birmingham, England, where she beat out the likes of Ed Sheeran, Jamie XX, Florence + The MAChine, Foals and Years & Years for the trophy.
Adele sent a message of thanks to her fans.
“The award is heavy – you could kill a man with it. Not that I would”, he said. Thanks so, so much.’ The 1st of many?
That morning, it was announced that Ellie nabbed a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song for “Love Me Like You Do” from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack. Queen’s Brian May announced her second gong: BBC Live Performance of the Year for Adele at the BBC, A BBC One Special.
She was missing on the night but sent a message saying: “That’s fantastic”. You guys have been so supportive and wonderful. It was an wonderful highlight of the year for me getting to play Big Weekend in Norwich.
Also absent from the show was Taylor Swift, who won the International Artist of the Year honour.
While his outfit wasn’t as floral as his choice of suit for the American Music Awards, he still turned heads thanks to THESE incredible pants.
Other artists taking to the stage include Hozier, Mumford & Sons, Faithless, Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott, the Shires, James Bay, Omi and Jack Garratt, who will be crowned BBC Introducing Artist of the Year.
Alongside the awards, the audience were treated to live performance, which indluded, One Direction, Little Mix, Ellie Goulding and Jess Glynne.
