Amy Poehler Reveals Her ‘Real’ Speaking Voice — and It’s Shocking!
Amy Poehler and Tina Fey stole the style spotlight at the Sisters premiere at Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City on Tuesday. Tina Fey revealed she keeps tabs on her “Saturday Night Live” buddies via an epic group text.
“In my 20s”, Fallon replied to big laughs from Poehler and the audience. Of course you can not really smell her, nor would you want to, but comic Maggie Smith gives off a whiff of the irresistible. “There were also people who were kind of new to us, or relatively new to us, that were so great to work with”, she said.
“Then I was like, I’ve had a good interaction, I’m going to move it along now”. I don’t want J. Lo to be angry at me. “And, I mean, I’ve enjoyed this game so far, but I’d like you to tell the truth”.
Sisters is set to be released on the same day as Star Wars: The Force Awakens of December 18.
Fey isn’t bothered about the competition, and said: “I feel bad for them”.
Like the comedy teams of old, Laurel and Hardy, Abbott and Costello, Fey and Poehler offer irresistible side splitting guffaws in Sisters, their new movie that opened this week at the Ziegfeld with a party at MoMA. Sisters shows the two wildly different siblings throw one last bash at their parents’ (James Brolin, Dianne Wiest) home before they sell it. “We have a shorthand, like if we haven’t seen each other in a long time we’ll come up to each other and start talking really fast, like half sentences”, she added. The script nails the sisterly dynamic from the way they look out for each other, to the way they slag each other off. It’s real and relatable and while it’s obvious that they love each other very much, it never gets too sentimental.
