Jeb Bush Website Takes Visitors to Donald Trump’s Campaign Page
Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush made a joke at Donald Trump’s expense Friday, saying that Trump looked a little scared of the bald eagle he posed with during a TIME photoshoot.
Real estate tycoon Donald Trump (R) conferred with Ohio Governor John Kasich (L) during a break in the Republican presidential primary debate in August. “He’s an expert at this”. “He is phenomenal at garnering attention”.
He also slipped in a few jabs at Trump himself. “But over the long haul, we need to have productive, constructive ideas to lift people up”. If people aren’t buying what you’re selling, you are going nowhere, media or no media. “It’s kind of odd, but when you’re a son of someone you don’t get those kinds of insights”. Don’t you follow politics?
Thus, to their consternation, and against all permutations, the “establishment” political stalwarts who were expected to ride out the rough storms of the process began to disappear into the twilight zone. “So, we quickly decided that we were all gonna read a book that week and then we would have an interesting dinner conversation that would be over early, about the book that we read”, Bush said, as the young crowd laughed. You can’t just dismiss it all as too shallow and sleazy and prissily avert your gaze. The ad comes less than a week after a Muslim couple, who the Federal Bureau of Investigation says were radicalized, killed 14 people in a shooting spree in San Bernardino, California, that heightened fears among Americans about Islamic State militants.
Since Trump announced his Muslim immigration ban this week, Republican presidential hopefuls have demurred when asked if they would drop their promise to support him if he is nominated. He thrives on publicity. Which one is more memorable? Ted Cruz, R-Texas and Marco Rubio, R-Fla.
It’s not clear whether Trump had anything to do with this, though The Daily Caller has implied as much. But the more opponents denounce him, the more the fact-checkers refute him, the more his substantial base loves him.
Extraordinary statements have become ordinary for Trump. But it hasn’t happened yet. But he has stopped short of criticizing his onetime protege directly. In a statement sent Wednesday, his camp said the company’s right to police Trump’s “brand and businesses interests” are “not forfeited by virtue of Mr. Trump’s candidacy”.
“Why was advertising so devastating to Mitt Romney?” Democrats have challenged Republicans to back away from Trump, but Republicans remain fearful that he could mount an independent bid, hurting their chances in the general election. This was before Trump ascended to the top of the charts, and part of me hoped he could be ignored.
OK, so maybe we already knew about this one, but it’s been a while since it’s come up.
“The things that, you know, we all take for granted, are becoming more and more powerful and meaningful for me”, he added.
