Microsoft Band updated to include music controls and inactivity alerts
Microsoft’s new reminders urge you to get up and walk around a bit. Featuring a curved display, the second version also offered a handful of improvements, including additional sensors, built-in GPS, UV monitoring, sleep-tracking, and notifications for calls and texts. The touchscreen display on Microsoft Band is going to display song title and enable users to pause, play, skip forward and back and also adjust the volume right from their wrist. Any music app can be controlled by the Band 2, once it’s connected to the phone using Bluetooth, but Microsoft has struck up a deal with Spotify to supply special holiday-themed songs.

Similar to the Apple Watch, the Band 2 is now set to passively aggressively remind wearers when they’ve sat too long. A “What’s New” tile has also been introduced in the update that simply lets you know about the new features for the Microsoft Band. Additionally, certain periods of time-like, say, when sleeping-can be marked so that the Microsoft Band doesn’t try to stir users into activity in the middle of the night.
Microsoft has rolled out an update for its famous Band, which comes with added music controls and activity reminders, reports The Verge. You can see how well you have done in your exercises by checking out the Microsoft Health app or by seeing your Web Dashboard – all needed things will be categorized under the type of exercises you do for proper insights and adequate performances.
