Woods’ mother, Gwendolyn, cried at a news conference on Friday, saying of her son, “He was the best of me”. Those officers’ names will be released within 10 days of the fatal shooting.

Burris said Woods’ death is an “affront and insult to the African American community” in San Francisco and that everyone should know what happened to Woods in order for it not to happen again. Woods died shortly after at least five officers fired at him in the Bayview neighborhood about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
