You’re Fired: Anonymous Has Declared War On Donald Trump
NBC News’ foreign correspondent Richard Engel warned on Twitter and on air that Trump’s anti-Muslim statements could have troublesome effect on USA relations overseas.
The website for Trump Towers, Donald Trump’s glitzy signature skyscraper in Manhattan, went offline for at least an hour yesterday after activist hacking group Anonymous denounced the real-estate mogul and Republican presidential front-runner for his anti-Muslim comments.
Following the video, the group said it was targeting the website for the famed Trump Tower in NY, where Trump often spends time when he’s in the city.
“Donald Trump, it has come to our attention that you want to ban all Muslims from entering the United States”.
In a video posted on YouTube, a member of the collective said: “Donald Trump think twice before you speak anything”.
Trump, however, has not wavered in his position that all Muslims should be temporarily barred from entering the United States. A number of media outlets are so upset by the GOP presidential candidate’s most recent controversial statement that they’re dumping objectivity in favor of openly criticizing him. It claims to have taken down thousands of Twitter accounts that support the group.
Just days after it was revealed that Trump Home products had been pulled from the shelves of one of the region’s biggest chain stores, a massive billboard featuring the property tycoon at the construction site of one of his latest developments was removed in Dubai.
Trump’s comments also sparked fury among politicians including David Cameron, Boris Johnson and Hilary Clinton.
Anonymous have also declared today Anti-ISIS Day of Rage, calling on people to troll Islamic State group accounts with the hashtag #Daeshbags, a reference to Daesh, the Arabic acronym for IS.
If the reports of Anonymous’ success are true, then Trump joins a high-profile list of targets.
