Trump claims Netanyahu agrees with him on Muslims
On Monday Trump said he was “calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on”. “And I think everybody, especially the Republicans, need to stand up and really say, ‘Enough”.
By contrast, 24 percent say that Trump’s manner and language might be problematic, but think he’s raising important issues.
Among Republicans, 29 percent found Trump’s remarks offensive compared to 64 percent who didn’t.
According to a new Wall Street Journal/NBC poll, Trump’s standing among voters has not changed since October.
Throughout the week, Clinton, who once attended Trump’s wedding because she said she thought it would be “entertaining”, has assailed Trump for his proposal.
Twitter users in turn were quick to remind Trump about some of the most famous athletes in USA history, including Ali and Abdul-Jabbar, and they even posted photos of the presidential candidate posing with Ali.
Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson came in second among Republicans with 12 percent in the Reuters/Ipsos poll, and U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush tied with 10 percent. It had a margin of error of +/- 3% for all adults and +/- 6% for both Democratic and Republican primary voters.

Netanyahu on Wednesday rejected Trump’s comments about Muslims, but said that he would still meet with Trump as scheduled later this month.
Earlier on Thursday, the GOP frontrunner said in an interview that he was postponing the slated December 28 visit for “lots of different reasons”, including a desire to take pressure off Netanyahu. Fully 54% of Republicans agreed with Trump, while 38% disagreed.
