Swansea want Avram Grant as new coach
Swansea City supporters have reacted with doubts over whether Ghana coach Avram Grant is the right man to steer their club out of relegation after rumours claimed he was being considered for the post.
All in all I think that Manchester City will win easily and may use this as an opportunity to improve their goal difference.
“I’m not interested in the (Swansea) job”, Moyes told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSport.
Maybe he plays different games, one better and another not so good, but I think the most important thing is to work every day with important players like David (Silva), Kun (Sergio Aguero) and Yaya (Toure). “We really didn’t play well during the whole game, I think that Swansea made a very good game”.
Monk succeeded Michael Laudrup in February 2014 with Swansea two points above the bottom three with 13 league games left.
“I am proud of him”, he said. “And [in that case], he’s coming to me”.
Louis van Gaal has responded to rumours that Ryan Giggs could leave Old Trafford to take up the vacant managerial position at Premier League rivals Swansea City, insisting that he would speak to his assistant if such speculation proves to be accurate.
Swansea City on Wednesday “reluctantly” sacked coach Garry Monk, following a awful run that has seen the Welsh club plummet toward the English Premier League relegation zone.
“On the record just to say as Avram Grant’s agent that he is happy as the coach of @ghanafaofficial Blackstars”. @SwansOfficial not in touch.
Curtis has been asked to stand in after assistant manager Pep Clotet and first-team coaches James Beattie and Kristian O’Leary followed Monk out of the Liberty Stadium door on Thursday morning.
Rangers manager Mark Warburton has also been heavily favoured by bookmakers to succeed Monk, but he brushed aside the speculation at a Glasgow press conference.
“Garry is a young manager who had a good year”.
“Any manager only gets linked to jobs – and it’s always flattering – if you are winning games of football. I surely can’t go down this path again”.
“Yes, we are on a bad run, but we won’t be going to the Etihad just to make up the numbers and get the fixture out of the way while we wait for a new manager to come in”, Curtis said.
