Planned Parenthood opens new health clinic in West Hollywood days after
Days after a gunman killed three people and wounded nine others at a planned parenthood in Colorado.
Robert Lewis Dear appeared on a video link from El Paso County Criminal Justice Center, where he has been held since surrendering following a five-hour siege at the Planned Parenthood centre in Colorado Springs.
During Monday’s 12 minute hearing, Presiding judge Gilbert Martinez advised Dear of his rights, and notified him of his initial charge.
The husband of one of three people killed in an attack at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs says his wife was a caring and compassionate person and a patient and understanding parent.
“The initial charge against you is murder in the first degree, the penalty for that charge is minimum of life in prison, maximum of death”. Authorities say Dear mentioned “baby parts” after the shooting and engaged in anti-abortion and anti-government rhetoric.
Mescher Michaux, who lives in SC with her current husband, said Tuesday she was convinced that Dear specifically targeted the Colorado clinic last week.
He is accused of shooting dead a university police officer who responded to the attack, as well as an Iraq war veteran and a mother of two inside the clinic. However, one of his ex-wives, Pamela Ross, said Dear did not specifically obsess over abortion. Even in this statement, Black is fuzzing up the facts, misleading people to assume this federal money pays for abortions.
Some of Dear’s acquaintances, who spoke to the Times on the condition of anonymity, said he was strictly against abortion and at times heaped praise on those who attacked abortion clinics.
“This was a man who they said prior to this was mentally disturbed”.
The shooting was the second in weeks in Colorado Springs to leave several victims.
“They have for generations, in many cases it’s the only organization that provides health services to impoverished women”, Obama said at a Tuesday press conference in Paris, following his meeting with world leaders to address global climate change.
The cryptic message was a likely reference to Planned Parenthood’s practice of providing aborted fetal tissue for research purposes.
“It is offensive and outrageous that some politicians are now claiming this tragedy has nothing to do with the toxic environment they helped create”, accusing both GOP presidential candidates Donald Trump and Carly Fiorina of “using this tragedy to repeat false claims about Planned Parenthood”.
