7-year-old raped in Delhi, juvenile held

The incident was witnessed by a passerby who informed a cop, ASI Om Prakash, at the next traffic signal.

The police team rescued the girl and managed to overpower all the accused youths except Aman, who dodged the team and fled the scene, said police.

The girl knew Rahul, who was her neighbour, but could not identify the others, who later turned out to be residents of the same locality, said police. Sandeep was the driver.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Pushpendra Kumar, was quoted in TOI, where he said, “The girl left her home for school at around 7:30 am when Rahul stopped the vehicle and asked her to get in”.

“The police team reached the spot and nabbed the accused just when they were about to leave the area”.

Mili later was taken to another park where she was raped by at least three men.

A case of abduction, gang-rape, criminal intimidation and hatching a criminal conspiracy under IPC and relevant sections of the POCSO Act has been registered in connection with the incident. The family had come from Bihar and had rented a hotel room, in which the man allegedly raped his daughter 11th December when his wife was away. As two stood outside the vehicle to keep a vigil and the victim was also beaten up by them when she resisted. They threatened to kill her younger brother and her if she approached the police. The girl was later counselled by an NGO in the presence of her mother. Her 26-year-old uncle was reportedly assaulting her for the past few months.
