Chelsea boss rubbishes sensational Madrid return
José Mourinho said today that he feels embarrassed by the support he has received from Chelsea fans during their troubled season.
Jose Mourinho spent three years in charge of Real Madrid.
Asked about the Madrid link, the 52-year-old said: “I imagine myself finishing my contract with Chelsea”.
Costa recently returned to the Blues starting XI after starting the previous two games on the bench, hinting at a possible exit from Stamford Bridge could be on the cards.
“After that I imagine myself coaching – not every club, there are some clubs I will never manage – but every club in the world”.
“I don’t know if I’ll go back to Atletico”, he told Onda Cero.
Chelsea are 17 points behind league-leaders Leicester City – their opponents on Tuesday morning (AEDT) – and 14 points behind fourth-placed Manchester United. “I even feel a little bit … not knowing how to react when the people are so nice and they sing my name, you know, “Stand up for the Special One”.
Meanwhile, despite Chelsea’s hard start to the 2015-2016 Premier League season, Mourinho is not giving up on a top-four finish come May.
Chelsea have lost eight of their opening 15 matches in the league and are certain to struggle to secure a Champions League spot next season, let alone retain the title.
“When you are the champion you wave and share the emotion”. But the Chelsea fans have been nearly unanimously supportive throughout, and the Portuguese boss knows they don’t have “memory problems”.
“It is fantastic because if they didn’t remember, there is no way they would treat me and the players like this so for sure we want to play at Stamford Bridge”.
