Teen on hoverboard dies after colliding with bus in London
The 15-year-old had reportedly been out buying milk for his mum, and a witness said he had not looked confident on the self-balancing scooter in the moments before the tragedy. The boy has yet to be formally identified, and a post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course, police said.
The pal of a teenager killed by a bus after falling from a hoverboard has paid tribute to him.
Jeffery Mingle, 33, said he chased after the bus as the driver was unaware he had hit the boy as he continued on his journey.
Hoverboards – which cost around £400 – have becoming hugely popular in the a year ago following their use by the likes of actor Jamie Foxx and singer Justin Bieber.
The device is banned from use on public roads and footpaths.

The gadgets are this year’s must have Christmas gift, but their soaring popularity has led to a flood of cheap imitations from low-priced manufacturers and reports of them overheating and catching fire.
But in England, Wales and Scotland, it is also an offence to take it for a spin on the pavement, as it can prove to be a risky hazard for others.
