Warriors’ 24-game win streak snapped
Jabari Parker #12 of the Milwaukee Bucks drives to the hoop for two points during the third quarter against the Golden State Warriors during the third quarter against the Milwaukee Bucks at BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The Warriors streak looked to be nearing its end when they didn’t play so well last night on the road against the Boston Celtics, where it took double overtime for them to down the Celtics, 124-119. That broke a tie with the 2012-13 Miami Heat for the second-longest winning streak in league history, and now trails only the 33 straight by the Los Angeles Lakers in 1971-72.
Green said that since the start of the seven-game, 13-day trip that he thought the team had stopped getting better and kept racking up wins more because of its experience and talent.
Curry checked back in with 6:57 left and the Warriors trailing 91-79, but in the end, they got no closer as he finished 2 for 8 from 3-point range.
The up-and-coming Bucks improved to 10-15 with the win.
New Orleans native Greg Monroe led the Bucks with 28 points on 11-of-16 shooting and he pulled down 11 rebounds and had five assists.
Against the Chicago Bulls earlier this week, Evan Turner had a 360-degree dunk that he said you probably won’t see again. In the previous five times, including the Lakers’ 33-game win streak that ended in 1972, all of the teams Milwaukee beat went on to become NBA Champs.
Following the game, Thompson told reporters “it’s probably going to be sore for a couple days but I should be back in no time”.
Essentially, the Bucks out-Warriored the Warriors.
Unlike last night’s double overtime thriller in Boston, this game hardly lived up to the hype.
It marked the second straight game where Milwaukee had short bursts of success against one of the league’s premier teams, yet if they’re to have any hope of success on Saturday, they will be required to put in their best 48 minutes of the season so far.
“We will definitely cherish this, because it doesn’t happen often”, center Andrew Bogut said. Klay Thompson, returning after missing a game with a sprained ankle, had 12 points on 4-of-14 shooting.
Jackson also dished out nine assists while back-court partner Kentavious Caldwell-Pope approached a triple-double with 18 points, seven rebounds and a career-high eight assists.
“It’s important for us to realise that that was great… but we’re a quarter of the way through the regular season”.
ATLANTA (AP) – Kawhi Leonard scored 22 points, and San Antonio allowed only 25 first-half points in the strongest defensive effort by any National Basketball Association team this season.
