Cowboys prepare for the Packers

During the Cowboys magical run through the 1990s, the Packers were a formidable foe; matching up against America’s Team three straight years in the playoffs.

“He’s had two good days of practice”, the coach added. Before the win, everyone was ready to write off the Packers and offered them nearly no shot at doing much in the division or the playoffs. Every team plays us differently.

It was 1982 and Rodgers’ Cal Bears were facing Stanford in what is annually referred to as The Big Game. Of course, that’s the same amount of losses the Cowboys have over that span. And like Dallas, it took some late game heroics for the Packers to pull off a win last week.

Well, at least it isn’t as bad as the NFC East. All four teams in that division have a losing record.

Although it’s been a frustrating season for Lacy (and the Packers to a lesser degree), it certainly isn’t something both sides should be overly concerned about. While everyone seems to think the Packers are back in the mix of things following their miraculous win in Detroit last week, we’re not quite sold. Eddie Lacy appears out of Mike McCarthy’s dog house, but can he run against a stout Dallas defense? And also, the Packers offense is struggling this season. The Seahawks should win but this line was only minus-4.5 last week, and the Ravens haven’t lost a game by nine points all season. “So we need to strive for more consistency”. The Packers could have their work cut out for them this week. Two those touchdowns came in his best game as a professional against the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this season when he accumulated nine receptions for 112 yards.

A Cowboys vs Packers game is on the schedule this Sunday, according to the official Dallas Cowboys website.

Offensively, Green Bay is coming into this game on the back of a miracle, but they can’t stay in that moment forever. They haven’t faced Aaron Rodgers, but that is still an impressive total.

Fans can attend in person at Purcell’s Lounge, inside the Radisson Hotel Green Bay. Over their last three games, the Cowboys are sitting as the second best pass defense in the league, allowing just 166 yards per game to opposing quarterbacks.

The Cowboys need to pressure Rodgers regularly and do so without neglecting coverage. Dallas needs to take this part of the game away and force Rodgers to look deeper. Starting and stopping become far more hard, making it important to establish the running game or get the ball to moving receivers in open areas which puts a flat-footed defender at a disadvantage.
