Conor McGregor KO’s Jose Aldo in 13 Seconds
Conor McGregor becomes new undisputed UFC Featherweight champion after he knocked out José Aldo in an incredible 13 seconds with a left-hand punch.
In the wake of Conor McGregor’s incredible 13-second knockout of Jose Aldo at UFC 194, one person has made an incredible Unexpected Thug Life video.
Aldo, the soft-spoken featherweight title holder of five years, had been undefeated in an MMA fight since November 2005.
It was the fastest-ever UFC title-fight finish, and Aldo has already set his sights on avenging the defeat.
In the lead-up to his title unification bout with Jose Aldo, McGregor was telling anyone who would listen that he would depose the Brazilian in the first round.
“He threw a cross on my chest which I wasn’t expecting and I threw a punch and he came back with another cross and that was that”, said Aldo after the fight.
Meanwhile, McGregor insists the fight played out exactly as he predicted, adding: “I said his right hand would get him into trouble”.
It will be hard to top Holly Holm knocking out Ronda Rousey in UFC 193 but there’s a good chance that Aldo vs McGregor can deliver that same kind of excitement.
So, when I go up for that lightweight belt and take that belt I will still be the featherweight champion also. “I went through hell to get here, but it’s all worth it now”.
For his part, McGregor says he actually soaked it all in this week and really enjoyed his time becoming champion.
However, I will tell you that when I interviewed Conor he said that Frankie did have a big win and it might be enough to keep him at 145, but you don’t see that happening? It’s true what they say, anything can happen in this sport. This fight was originally supposed to take place in July but was postponed due to a McGregor rib injury.
On Saturday, after newly crowned middleweight champion Luke Rockhold and other winners had met the media, McGregor came out to hold his own news conference.
But when pressed for what his immediate plans were for his new belt, the “Notorious” one wasn’t as welcoming to the immeidate rematch Aldo was calling for. This is only the second time Aldo has lost a fight, and it is the first time he has been knocked out.
