One Direction Share Hug On Stage At ‘X Factor’ Remaining After Performing
The boyband were given a lot of airtime on Sunday night, being allowed to perform two tracks, Infinity and History, on the stage.
The four British lads took the X Factor stage to perform one last time as a group before they take their long break.
Afterwards Liam said, “We just want to thank X Factor, Simon and the whole crew, we can’t believe what’s happened”.
He then introduced a video from several famous faces, as well as Cowell himself, with goodbye messages.
But the highlight was David Beckham who blasted out his own version of Steal My Girl while driving his vehicle.
Also in the clip was Robbie Williams, Wayne Rooner, Danny DeVito, and James Corden, who said: “My boys, please don’t go away for too long”.
When asked what they’ll do with the time off on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man, Niall explained: “This time a year ago I couldn’t have told you what I was doing, and that is what we are looking forward to”.
While Perrie, who was engaged to their former bandmate Zayn Malik, also joined the tributes, as she said: “We’ve always been the biggest fans of the guys”. “Five of the nicest guys I ever met. Enjoy the time off. Have a fantastic time”, Cowell said to the band. This is genuine happiness and it’s all because of you guys so thank you so much’.
He added: “Sadly we’re going away for a little while, but we need it”.
They shared a group hug before Liam told Olly: “We’ve had the most wonderful five years; we can’t believe what’s happened to us”.
One Direction took it back to where it all began by appearing on The X Factor for their last live performance.
A video of Beckham showed him singing along to their music before saying: “Boys, what can I say”.
Earlier “ThisIsNotTheEndOfOneDirection” was trending worldwide on Twitter as fans shared the hashtag and their hope that the band will return after their planned hiatus.
