Anonymous Goes After Trump
WASHINGTON/NEW YORK Donald Trump held onto his commanding lead in the Republican race for the White House after his call for a ban on Muslims entering the United States was condemned worldwide, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll, the first national survey conducted entirely after the billionaire’s remarks.
Here’s part of the script from the Anonymous video, which depicts the speaker wearing a Guy Fawkes mask.
Following the video, the group said it was targeting the website for the famed Trump Tower in NY, where Trump often spends time when he’s in the city. “This is what ISIS wants”, the person states. The more Muslims feel sad, the more ISIS feels they can recruit them.
On Tuesday, Trump said he was not ashamed of his proposal for a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States”.
Donald Trump’s surge in the polls has given rise to talk of a brokered GOP convention. An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll found 57 percent of Americans opposed the idea.
Anonymous’s attacks on Mr Trump seems to be related to its “Operation Isis”.
In a statement on YouTube, Anonymous said it is focusing its efforts on Trump due to his deeply bigoted rhetoric against Latinos and Muslims. Just above half of Republican primary voters (51%) gave Trump a thumbs up, and 26% did not, which was also almost the same as in the previous poll.
“I think it should be shut down for now until you find something, a better program in place”, Reggie Johnson, a Trump supporter, told CNN outside the Republican candidate’s rally in Charleston, South Carolina.
A spokesperson for Trump Towers was not immediately reachable for a comment, Reuters said.
