United have lost aura – Bournemouth stars
Manchester United are desperate to bounce back following a frightful fortnight, reveals midfielder Michael Carrick.
Danny Murphy has criticised Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal for his team selection in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth.
Bournemouth showed how risky it is to underestimate the team by beating Chelsea last weekend, and posed a barely recognizable United defense – comprising Guillermo Varela, Paddy McNair, Daley Blind and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson – plenty of problems on the counterattack.
Elsewhere Romelu Lukaku scored in his sixth consecutive match but was not able to earn Everton a win as they drew 1-1 with Norwich at Carrow Road.
“I didn’t know that, and all the emotions of that game came flooding back”.
“That comes with winning games, ” he said when asked if United’s fear factor had gone. “It’s a game that we can look back on with a lot of pride”. “I think the three points were very important, more than the way we played”, said Pellegrini.
“We’d had a run of defeats, so to get points on the board was important”.
“I think I probably prefer to focus on the week rather than the individual games”, said Howe. I can say that in advance but nobody hears me.
“It is always very disappointing when you are at the top of the table when you lose to a club at the bottom of the table”.
Manchester United’s trip to Bournemouth was supposed to restore a bit of confidence in the players after they failed to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
“And then to come here, we wanted to bounce back”. I don’t like making excuses. I thought the young lads did well, to be honest.
Ferdinand urged the club’s decision-makers to explore other options in terms of managers, indicating that they should consider hiring one of Pep Guardiola or Carlo Ancelotti at the end of the season. They’ve stepped in and done well.
The setback at Bournemouth completes a miserable week for United.
In contrast to Van Gaal’s United team, Eddie Howe and Bournemouth are enjoying unprecedented league glory, with this result following last week’s victory at the home of the reigning champions, Chelsea.
“I want to pay tribute to how courageous he was”.
“And then we shall do our job, but it is more hard to prepare a game against Norwich when you have lost twice in a row”. That’s there, that’s obvious for everyone to see.
“We are now in the Europa League so now we have to win it. That is not easy. It doesn’t always work but as players that’s all we can do”.
