Star Wars 1313 May Live On In Some Form
Speaking with Slashfilm at a press event for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Kennedy brought up 1313.
According to Kathleen Kennedy, Disney is interested in further developing cancelled projects like ‘Star Wars 1313’.
‘There was 1313 the game…our attitude is, we don’t want to throw any of that stuff away.
Yeah, seeing the lightsaber in action definitely makes me want to do whatever it takes to get one. The game was titled Star Wars 1313, and it looked like a whole lot of fun. And the same presumably goes for any other Star Wars-related projects that were left on the cutting room floor at LucasArts.
“It is definitely in the genre thinking but Star Wars is very different than Marvel in that they basically build their stories around characters, and then they seed those characters in different stories”.
She was first asked by a reporter at Slashflim about the planned Star Wars Underworld TV show, for which Lucas already had 100 scripts prepared and was meant to take placed in the criminal underbelly of Coruscant. And she’s revealed that the basic story outlines are now in place for the movies right through to the end of Star Wars: Episode IX. Fans of the beloved sci-fi series were recently surveyed on which piece of Star Wars tech they’d want the most, and the answers are somewhat surprising.
Still, would it be worth dusting off one of Lucas’ old projects as the basis for a TV series, or is Star Wars better off returning to the drawing board, absent Lucas entirely?
Star Wars: Underworld, Kennedy says, is something the company is also interested in digging up.
While this isn’t a full-on confirmation that we’re getting the same 1313 shown in 2012, it does at least give us the sense that we could see something similar to it in the future.
With the highly anticipated release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens now within striking distance, people are still trying to wrap their heads around how this all came to be.
Many Filipino fans are happy with the expansion of the Star Wars brand in the country. In any case we guess we’ll just have to wait and see how this one plays out.
