Taylor Swift concert film coming to Apple Music
Following some early controversy between Swift and Apple Music, which quickly got resolved, it seems the 1989 singer has had a complete change of heart when it comes to having her stuff streaming online.
Since then, Apple Music has been the only streaming platform where 1989 is available.
In an exclusive deal, Apple Music will be the only place to stream Swift’s 1989 World Tour Live performance.
Swift announed on her website that she is giving her fans on Apple Music a special surprise this holiday, The 1989 World Tour LIVE.
Taylor Swift who celebrated her 26 birthday on Sunday, tweeted that a trailer for the concert video.
“I think I’d be leaving a huge part out if I didn’t mention the blog post that I wrote. #1989WorldTourLIVE @applemusic”, Taylor wrote in her post along with a video of her talking about the film.
“I wondered what it would look like if they were all lit up and dancing around like no one was watching”.
And by streaming it, it’ll basically be like having your very own 1989 tour concert in your living room / bedroom / on the tube / in the office.
She said she was withholding her 1989 album because of Apple’s stance. In the special, she performs in front of 76,000 fans in Sydney, Australia, on November 28.
In the video we see a few of the people Taylor Swift calls, “the most unbelievable artists in the world”, including the following names. Apple Music offered a three month free trial, which meant artists weren’t getting paid for the trial period as users streamed her songs over and over again, prompting an angry Swift to pen an open letter to Apple.
“Apple also gets the ability to use Swift’s name and likeness in promotions at its stores, where it will have big displays as well as Taylor Swift-branded iTunes gift cards for sales”. Apple took Swift’s criticisms on board and remedied their service so that they were paying artists during and after free trials.
