Kerry made his remarks at the Brookings Institution’s Saban Forum during a speech on Saturday. “It will not happen and we will continue to protect the lives of Israelis”.
“Israel will not be a binational state, but in order to have peace, the other side needs to decide that it wants peace as well, and unfortunately this is not what we are witnessing”, Netanyahu told a Cabinet meeting.
John Kerry said calls from some Israeli politicians to let Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ administration wither are counterproductive and self-defeating for Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday said Israel will not become a binational state, blaming the Palestinians for the standstill in the peace process.

Since October 1, nearly daily assaults and clashes between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers and violence between Palestinians and Israeli settlers have killed 109 Palestinians, including an Israeli Arab, 17 Israelis, an American and an Eritrean, according to an AFP count.
“It is important that it doesn’t become a slogan, a throw-away phrase, that it becomes a policy, which is what it is meant to be”, said the secretary of state.
“Are Israelis prepared for the consequences this would have for their children and grandchildren who serve in the (Israel Defence Forces)?” he questioned.
