READ: ‘Secret’ McDonalds menu finally revealed!
Though it has long been a rumour, the existence of McDonald’s “Secret Menu” has never been confirmed by a member of staff at the fast food chain – until now.
Now, for a select group of McDonald’s customers, they have been given the green light to regularly order from the secret menu – but their ingredients are, surprisingly, a secret to most American McDonald’s customers.
The 24-year-old manager from Scotland revealed that customers in the know can order up the likes of the dubiously named “McGangbang” – a McChicken sandwich tucked inside a double cheeseburger.
Have you ever tried to order anything off of this not-so-secret menu?
The humble Big Mac presents a customising opportunity in the eyes of secret menu devotees.
The secret menu was first brought to public attention by food website Hack the Menu, which posted the names and descriptions of each “hacked” item last April.
“Order one and the workers might not know it by name … but if you explain what it is, and are willing to pay for all the ingredients, it’s just another “grill order” that we can make up”, said the shift manager.
Items include the McLeprachaun Shake, which includes chocolate and mint and is only available during the month of March.
“The meat however, is good and is freshly grilled”.
She said: “The items marketed as “healthy options” are worse than you’d think. It’s 100% local beef flank and doesn’t even use any binders like egg or rusk that you’d find even in the “good brands” from the supermarket”.
She added: “DON’T order… the grilled chicken”.
A huge debate has ensued under a thread entitled: ‘I Am A McDonald’s Manager Ask Me Anything.’.
All the meat, except from the chicken apparently: “It’s awful frozen chicken that we defrost and steam and it’s a bit gelatinous”. They did, however, acknowledge that customers can ask for changes.
A McDonald’s spokeswoman said: “We do not have a secret menu at McDonald’s United Kingdom”.
