Pandora Launches New Personalized ‘Thumbprint Radio’ Feature
Faltering internet radio Pandora’s newest effort to reinvent itself is a newly personalised radio station called Thumbprint Radio, which is based on all of the thumbs you’ve ever given the service. The Thumbprint Radio feature enables them review their music activity on the platform, strategically listing down their favorite songs by evaluating their listening history, each track’s timeliness, and genre. As the original user continues to “thumb” music, their friends will have access to the updated station automatically.
The station will continue to evolve and change as you continue to give a thumbs up to other songs across the service. Thumbprint Radio station is live now for all users and you can get yours here.
This is not simply all of your thumbs up on shuffle. Along with weaving multiple genres into a cohesive whole, Thumbprint Radio will also play new music to discover, mixing things up to better reflect a radio station.
Thumbprint Radio is available both on Pandora’s website and its mobile apps and is accessible to paying subscribers and nonsubscribers. If you want to give people a taste of what you enjoy, you can just share this station with them. Not quite. Pandora’s team of in-house musicologists seamlessly combine all of your favorites with an array of new artists they anticipate you’ll love in order to create the dream sonic selection. You can customize your thumbs-up list by adding more songs or removing songs you no longer like.
Unlike major streaming sites such as Spotify that allow listeners to pick each track, Pandora consists of stations that a listener chooses. In recognition of the fact that your tastes may have become a bit more discerning in the years since you began jamming to Pandora mixes, Thumbprint Radio will focus first on songs you’ve liked in the past four or five months.
