Colts’ Andrew Luck: Colts hope can return against Houston
“From what I understand with an internal organ, you have two kidneys, so you can’t play with one that’s bum”. This game wasn’t all about the offense on Sunday. Some of it has to be chalked to play calling. Chuck Pagano is one of the worst head coaches in the National Football League at preparing game plans and it has shown time and time again this season. Two players, Bernard Pierce and Toby Gerhart, have already been placed on IR for the season. The offensive line still makes huge mistakes at times, looking at center Stephen Wisniewski, but it’s clear that they can suffice against most teams at the moment.
“Now I didn’t know it was going to be the flawless bounce and returned for a touchdown”. “We have to score”.
Adam Vinatieri continued his almost flawless season, making three more field goals to run his streak to 20 in a row.
Colts quarterback Matt Hasselbeck finished 18-for-35 passes for 252 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions. “What a great day today”. The Jaguars went six for six scoring touchdowns in the red zone against Tennessee last week and scored touchdowns on all four red-zone possessions Sunday. Being that there is no line or over/under for this game, I’ll tell you what I think based on my research. I can’t remember either. “It was a two-score game was all”. After a few snaps, though, Hasselbeck was back on the field, doing his best to lead this team to a win. The magic of his efficient play has faded. It wasn’t when quarterback Andrew Luck went down first with a right shoulder injury and then with kidney/abdomen injuries. His response to how they are going to move forward? We have what we have. The Colts still control their own destiny (I hate that phrase), which means the sky isn’t falling yet. Hopefully, we can continue that. With Houston’s loss to New England on Sunday night, it gives the Colts a little leeway in their final three games. However, Hilton was having success against the Jaguars defense, but just didn’t see as much action as I thought he should have. “So we knew we had a chance”, Hurns said. “We always have talked about we want to be a team that’s fairly balanced”, Bradley said.
“We need to find that switch and hit it”, Mathis said. “Our defense was playing well so we had to match them”. They’re a lot better. But let’s give some credit to Hasselbeck. No team makes it through the season without a run game…alive that is. With three games remaining the Colts are teetering on the edge of bowing out of the playoff race. We can’t do anything about that.
“It starts with me, OK, and everybody else”. “We earned that. We’ve been talking about it all week: Can we put a complete game together?”
“This is going to sting, and it’s going to sting for a long time”. Chuck Pagano solemnly stated.
Notes: Hasselbeck left the game late with a rib injury and was replaced by Charlie Whitehurst….
It’s reached the point now where the only thing that can save them, the only person who can save them, is Andrew Luck. Two teams to go on and win another game to stay in the hunt, so I’m not looking back.
The Colts and Texans will face off for the top spot in the division standings next Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.
