Jennifer Lawrence not interested in ‘Hunger Games’ prequels
Lionsgate may be going forward with more Hunger Games movies, but they’ll have to do it without their leading lady Jennifer Lawrence.
Speaking at the premiere of Joy, she told Variety, that she wouldn’t be involved. “They’ve got to let the body get cold, in my opinion”, she said. However, in doing so, they’ll have to do it without franchise and District revolution star, Jennifer Lawrence.
The hit sci-fi sequel, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, made it four weekends in a row on top by earning just over $11-million for yet another, but undoubtedly its last, first-place finish. The director explained that the hypothetical films wouldn’t be about Katniss. The final “Hunger Games” installment topped the North American box office for a fourth week, estimates showed yesterday, with the monster of a whale from “In the Heart of the Sea” landing a giant belly flop in second place.
Lawrence’s character isn’t necessary to the prequels, though.
Actress Jennifer Lawrence has put a line through being involved in spin-offs of the sci-fi adventure series which was supposed to end with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2.

He later added: “If we went backwards there obviously would be arenas…” It didn’t for a while and I didn’t think it would ever sink in, but it has now.
Katniss would not actually want more Hunger Games.
