Taylor Swift to release concert tour on Apple Music
TAYLOR Swift celebrated her 26th birthday with the announcement of her concert film.
Pop queen Taylor Swift feared a big Mac attack.
The move might come as a surprise to fans and industry watchers who remember that Swift strongly chastised Apple Music earlier this year.
Apple then backed down and in astounding U-turn confirmed they will begin to pay artists during this period. Swift and her friends (including beau Clavin Harris) enjoyed a very festive party to mark the singer’s special day and even Santa Claus turned up.
The singer also tweeted that an interview discussing the video would be broadcast at 9 a.m. PST (1700 GMT) on Monday on Beats 1, Apple’s radio station. “I was thinking the way it would go over is, ‘There’s Taylor nagging again.’ Looking at it now, having Apple change something so important for us in the music community, it opened my mind to the thought of working with them”.
“I wondered what it would look like if they were all lit up and dancing around like no one was watching. Am I going to wake up tomorrow and all of my music will be off of iTunes?” she said. “Like absolute terror hit”.
Swift marked her birthday on Instagram, by posting an adorable throwback photo of herself as a youngster, wearing a Little mermaid sweatshirt.
In the video we see a few of the people Taylor Swift calls, “the most incredible artists in the world”, including the following names.
The film will feature one leg of the world tour at ANZ Stadium in Sydney, Australia, which took place on November 28th.
The tour promoting her latest album “1989” had more than $240 million in gross ticket sales, the New York Times reported, citing figures from the concert data tracker Pollstar. The company has been trying to boost listeners for its free music streaming service competing with Pandora, Spotify, Tidal and other music streaming services. According to CNN Money, the deal will give Apple exclusive rights to stream concerts from her 1989 World Tour on Apple Music.
Some of the stars joining Swift on stage during the tour included Mick Jagger, Justin Timberlake, Selena Gomez, John Legend and Mary J. Blige.
