Meanwhile, Trump, whose odds of winning the Republican nomination quickly plummeted from 33% to 22% a day after he called “for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States”, back up to 27%. His leading status in the polls comes in the wake of his controversial statement at the Republican Jewish Coalition that critics deemed as offensive to individuals following the Jewish faith, the Beacon Examiner reports.
Quinnipiac University released a poll Monday afternoon, as well, which showed Trump and Cruz running neck-and-neck in Iowa.

That means 77 percent of the vote heading into the Christmas holidays are for candidates not part of the GOP establishment. Five polls were included in the CNN Poll of Polls in New Hampshire, with the earliest including interviews conducted November 14 and the latest running through December 8. In favorability, Trump beats Cruz (58%), Rubio (55%) and Carson (57%).
