What Happened After Adele’s First Concert In Four Years Is Too Emotional
Her rich velvety tone is amplified; maybe by life (she’s a mom now and I’ve heard this happens to some women), maybe by the vocal training she had to endure after her surgery from vocal hemorrhaging.
This extraordinary performance will mark the artist’s first concert in the US since fall 2011 and her largest ever show to date in NY. Are you watching Adele’s special tonight?
And Adele is so excited to get back to touring. “I love you, but you scare me”, she says later. The 10-time Grammy victor recorded the concert (her first in four years) on November 17 at Radio City Music Hall “to celebrate the release of her new album”, according to NBC, overcoming her famous reticence about singing on stage to deliver a not-to-be-missed showcase of her record-shattering 25. “I’ll never forget it. I’ll remember every moment”.
In celebration of the release of “25”, Adele will take over NBC with performances on “Saturday Night Live” (Nov. 21), “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” (Nov. 23) and “Today” (Nov. 25). And I wanted to write something that would last forever. But this is definitely my song…. Thank you so much for coming.
“Make You Feel My Love” (2008) Adele’s cover of the Bob Dylan classic has the honor of reaching No. 4 on the U.K. Singles chart twice: once after its initial release in 2008 and again after the song was performed twice on “Britain’s Got Talent” in 2010. Once there we were like the ultimate fan girls: ‘OMG, there’s Bradley Cooper!’ Girl, turn around, there’s Tina Fey.’ It was a star-studded affair indeed, but the true star of the evening was Adele.
“Skyfall” (2013) Adele’s first live performance of the theme to the 23rd James Bond movie at the 85th Academy Awards was quickly followed by the expected win.
Then she honored the victims of the terrorist attacks in Paris with the song “Hometown Glory” as images of Paris were shown.
