LeSean McCoy doesn’t shake Chip Kelly’s hand, snubs media after loss
Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy was in no mood for talking in the immediate aftermath of his team’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. McCoy kissed the Eagles logo. It is clear either Kelly does not believe Murray is the better back or the veteran could be given the same fate as McCoy and DeSean Jackson and simply get released for not buying into the system.
Philadelphia edged Buffalo 23-20 to remain tied atop the NFC East. On the play, Robert Woods was streaking up the right sideline, but Taylor just overthrew the ball and it was easily intercepted by Eagles safety Ed Reynolds to end the game.
For the Eagles to have a shot at this game, Sam Bradford and company are going to have to do the unthinkable.
“In the middle of the fourth quarter when we were stopping him a little bit, I could tell he was getting frustrated”, Eagles offensive tackle Jason Peters said.
McCoy did not stick around to shake anyone’s hand, but if he wanted to he could have claimed that he is better than Kiko Alonso, the inside linebacker the Eagles got in exchange for their all-time leading rusher. Sure he is still hot at Chip Kelly for being traded, but running for shade after the game was bush league. It was an emotional game for the current Buffalo Bill as he heard a mixed reaction from fans.
McCoy averaged a respectable 3.7 yards on 20 carries Sunday, including a 24-yard run, but he did not score a touchdown.
Taylor put together touchdown drives on consecutive second-half possessions in a 14-13 win at Tennessee in Week 5. Though there is nearly no way those talks come to a close heading into week 15, it is encouraging to see them deliver a three-phase, sixty-minute effort against a very talented Bills team.
On the next play, Mike Gillislee, giving McCoy a breather, ran it in, tying the game with 46 seconds left in the third quarter.
Buffalo out-gained Philadelphia 412 to 348 but penalties continued to stall drives.
The first quarter didn’t start the way McCoy and the Bills had hoped.
The Eagles’ trio of Ryan Mathews (13 carries, 38 yards), Sproles (11-for-34) and DeMarco Murray (7-for-41) combined for 113 yards.
“Sam played outstanding”, Kelly said. They gave up just one more completion longer than 18 yards after that. “I mean, we were playing the Buffalo Bills and a really well-coached team by Rex Ryan that has a lot of really good players”. “But we got to play in control and just be aware of the situations and play within the whistles”.
After Darren Sproles ran in from the 1 for a 7-0 lead on Philadelphia’s first drive, the Eagles went three-and-out three straight series. He added another 35 yards on four pass receptions for a 109-yard, day but was mostly smothered by an Eagles’ defense that has recovered nicely after twin 45-point beatings in November.
Although Nelson Agholor scored his first-career touchdown on a 53-yard reception, the rookie wide receiver also dropped two passes.
PRAISING FLETCH: Eagles DE Fletcher Cox had one sack and eight tackles, including stopping McCoy for a 10-yard loss.
