Among the Hollywood onlookers in attendance at the premieres were Spike Lee, Matthew McConaughey and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who dressed in full costume as Yoda. Actress Carrie Fisher posted a tweet on her way to the premiere.

Descriptions include “funny, fun and exciting”, with LA Times film writer Rebecca Keegan noting that “among its many wonderful qualities” it also passes the Bechdel test in representing female characters. One couple even travelled from Australia to have a Star Wars-themed wedding at the venue, according to BBC News!
They continued: “The new characters are very well written and portrayed, with just enough depth to them”.
In particular, they complain that the three “prequels”, all directed by Lucas, are clunky, badly acted, inconsistent with established mythos, and contain such appalling characters as Jar Jar Binks, generally considered the nadir of the whole franchise. However the real highlight is the original cast. In a four-minute comedy sketch on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Harrison Ford and Chewbacca resolved a purported feud with an endearing, hug-it-out moment.
“I am a Star Wars fan so I feel like we’re paying homage to a film that I really respect, so I feel good”, said Boyega. “A LOT of smiling faces”.
Director JJ Abrams said he was looking forward to sharing his creation.
“The Force Awakens” will be released publicly Friday, with some box-office analysts expecting it to smash sales records.
