Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery’s Irish boyfriend passes away
Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery is asking for privacy following the death of her fiance John Dineen.
John Dineen passed away in Cork’s Marymount Hospital on Sunday morning after an illness, the Irish Examiner has stated.
The funeral is expected to take place in Cork on Wednesday, December 16. Though the pair had refused to release a statement, reports suggest they had gotten engaged earlier this year.
Michelle, who plays Lady Mary in Downton Abbey, is said to be devastated at his passing.
She’s rarely spoken of Dineen in interviews, but in 2014, she admitted she was seeing a “wonderful man” from Ireland. We were introduced by Allen Leech.
According to John’s LinkedIn profile, he studied a BSC in Food Business and Development at the University College Cork before going onto do a MSC at the University College Dublin from 2004 to 2005.
‘She’s over the moon and was showing it off to all of the cast and crew, ‘ a source told The Sun at the time. “She and John make a lovely couple”.
The couple was photographed together at the Venice Film Festival, Wimbledon and at polo’s Cartier Queen’s Cup.
Our thoughts are with Michelle and John’s family and friends.
A senior director at London-based FTI consulting, he is believed to have returned home to Ireland and sought pioneering treatment in Germany following his diagnosis, reports the Irish Independent.
