Kobe Bryant, Nike release the Kobe 11
Fittingly, this progressive technology debuts on the KOBE 11, underscoring the dedication to innovation that has cemented Kobe Bryant’s design legacy, one that rivals, if not extends, the champion’s on-court perfectionism. “For the Kobe 11, we worked to ideal Flyknit for basketball”.
“Throughout my time with Nike, I’ve obsessed the details of my shoes”, said Bryant in a press release.
The remainder of the silhouette stays familiar to those acquainted with the Kobe 10. Other highlights include a translucent bottom sole, with a full-length Lunarlon foam insert and a Zoom unit in its heel for added on-court comfort. The red and black shoe alludes to the Greek god Achilles whilst making a nod to Bryant’s own career journey. The left one has four stitch marks, which symbolize the stitches Bryant has from his surgery off an Achilles heel injury in 2013, and the right one has a logo of the hero Achilles from the Trojan War. Along with the reveal, Bryant said that he would be hiding 20 pairs of autographed sneakers around the world.
“There will be questions that pose as clues”, Kobe explained. “Some of the questions will be standard stuff; growing up questions and things like that”.
The scavenger hunt is set to begin on December 22nd and you can expect Nike, Kobe or a combination of both to be giving us clues via social media. Get the Kobe 11 price details and information here.
