Samsung’s Galaxy S7 “to feature iPhone 6S-aping display”
The Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ are getting updates, too! With three months left to work on its devices, experts believe that Samsung could still make a lot of changes tp the devices. The phones that are slated to get Android 6.0 rolled out to them, include the Galaxy Note 5, the Galaxy Note 4 / Note 4 Duos, the Galaxy Note Edge, the Galaxy S6 edge+, the Galaxy S6 edge, the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 Duos, the Galaxy S5, the Galaxy S5 Neo, the Galaxy S5 LTE-A and the Galaxy Alpha.
Owners of Samsung’s latest smartphones are eagerly waiting for Android 6.0 to arrive, and judging by the information leaked out throughout these past several weeks, Marshmallow should hit the waves and reach various Samsung terminals in Q1 2016.
A report at The Wall Street Journal said that Samsung will take tips from Apple’s smartphone by adding a pressure-sensitive display on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, offering similar functionality to Apple’s 3D Touch feature.
Fortunately though, the “Samsung Galaxy A9” comes with Samsung Pay support and it also has a fingerprint scanner. Both phones feature Samsung’s home-grown Exynos octa-core processor and 3 gigs of RAM, and with options available for 32, 64 and 128 gigs of storage. In addition, it is still not yet clear when it will debut but the handset is expected to be introduced in February during next year’s Mobile World Congress happening in Barcelona. The release date of the S7 is expected to be much earlier compared to its predecessor’s launch in 2015 with the objective to boost sales while the devices are still popular from the recent announcement.
The USB Type-C port as the WSJ sources say, will also be utilized to charge the device considerably faster than the current generation.
Samsung isn’t just going after Apple with press sensitive smarts, however.
Quite like the Galaxy S6, Samsung, reportedly, will introduce an “Edge” variant of the Galaxy S7, meaning the Galaxy S7 will come in two versions – one with a flat screen and the other with a curved screen.
