Kim Kardashian is having her placenta freeze dried so she can swallow it in pill form over the coming weeks. “I had great results and felt so energized and didn’t have any signs of depression!” she gushed on her site.

It’s well known that reality TV queen Kim suffered during both of her pregnancies and births; first with daughter North, who was born in 2013, and then with new addition, son Saint, earlier in December (15).

Following the announcement of her second pregnancy in May, Kardashian started using this “morning sickness pill” and even endorsed it on social media. “What do I have to lose?” she shared.

Kim and Kanye now have two children North West, 2, and the newborn baby Saint. In a blog post last month, Kardashian, 35, revealed that her son was breech, which required her to undergo a painful procedure the weekend before giving birth to get her baby boy to turn in her womb.

Kardashian had her placenta freeze-dried and converted into pills in order to ingest it, and she added she’s confident that consuming a bevy of her own hormones will help her avoid an illness that affects a surprising number of new mothers.

“I totally recommend it for anyone considering it!” she wrote. The review notes that while almost every non-human placental mammal ingests its placenta after birth, the first recorded instances of women doing so were in North America in the 1970s, and any benefits that animals derive from the practice can’t be assumed to apply to humans.
