Kim Kardashian is eating her own Placenta to Ward off Postpartum Depression
Kim gave birth on December 5 to her and Kanye West’s second child, a baby boy named Saint – and news about Kim eating placenta pills might come as a shock to some of her fans. Earlier, Kim chose her younger sister Khloe Kardashian as the godmother for her daughter North West.
And she said of the moment she learned of her post-birth weight: “I nearly died”.
However, those mothers, she said, didn’t have depression when they took the pills with baby number two.
Now that she’s taking it, Kardashian-West said they are effective.
Finding the situation hilarious, Kim sent out her own tweet, which read: ‘Just realized North tweeted!’
She also added that she weighed 124 pounds when she married Kanye West and her goal weight was that of 120 pounds, so she would need to shed at least 70 pounds. So I thought, why not try it? News, the same network that showcases their long-running reality TV show, and didn’t correct the reporter when she pronounced Saint in the English way – “Say-nt”.
Kardashian isn’t the first member of her famous family to eat her placenta following childbirth.
Kim posted recently that she plans to eat her placenta after she experienced great results by doing so following the birth of North.
“I mean, I’m focused and I love the challenge of getting my body back and feeling good again, BUT I am going to be a little bit more realistic”. It is done by animals and by some humans, including both tribal and celebrity women. WebMD says there is no proof that eating the placenta does what Lucarelli mentions in clients’ anecdote, but some doctors think the practice should be continued to be studied.
According to a government-funded study, however, eating or consuming the placenta brings no health benefit to humans.
